The renovations of the Oak Hammock Marsh Wetland Discovery Centre aim to enhance the visitor experience by reconfiguring several areas, including the main exhibit hall, the washrooms and the café. These improvements are designed to provide greater convenience and comfort for guests.
The upgraded non-gender specific washrooms will offer increased accessibility, and an improved layout. These new washrooms will replace the old ones located just to the right and left of the staircase leading to the Café.
The reconfiguration of the café aims to create a more welcoming and efficient space for dining, reshaping the seating area and enhancing the overall ambiance. The main entrance to the Café, pictured above, has been moved to be directly at the top of the stairwell to offer a breathtaking view of the Marsh as well as to increase the size of the kitchen.
The Morrison Wetland Hall, our main exhibit area, will benefit from a more naturally flowing experience as guests are exploring various areas and learning about wetlands and their inhabitants. The wall pictured above will divide the large room into more cozy areas.
These changes reflect a commitment to improving the infrastructure and visitor services at the centre, ensuring that guests have a pleasant and memorable experience while exploring the natural beauty of Oak Hammock Marsh.
