Invertebrate Sampling (May-October)
Grab a bucket and a dip net, or even a dredge, to sample the waters and discover the diversity of life in the marsh. Strap on some chest waders to get an even closer look (water levels permitting).
Note: During winter months when Invertebrate Sampling is unavailable, you may select a different program within your grade package.

Themed Marshwalk: Wetland Biodiversity
Journey through the marsh and learn how all of the plants, animals, and water work together.

Explore Watersheds
Through a demonstration model, interactive activities and games, learn the importance of wetlands and watersheds.

Birding 101
Learn about the fascinating diversity of birds found at Oak Hammock Marsh with this introduction to bird identification.

Water Chemistry *
Collect water samples and test them in our lab to better understand this key part of wetlands. *Note: there is an additional cost of $2, per student, for this program.

Geocaching *
Learn the basics of using a GPS and have fun using using one for geocaching. This is an important tool used by wildlife researchers in the field! *Note: there is an additional cost of $2, per student, for this program.

Indigenous Games
Engage in fun, interactive, and challenging games that teach important skills and lessons. These games were, and still are, played by Indigenous groups in the area.

Voyageur Canoe *
Explore the marsh with an interpreter in one of our ten passenger, voyageur-style canoes! See the marsh from from a whole new view. Group  size limit and weather permitting. *Note: there is an additional cost of $4, per student, for this program.

À l’aide de différents instruments, attrapez les invertébrés aquatiques pour découvrir la diversité du marais. Des cuissardes sont à votre disposition, si les conditions le permettent. Veuillez noter : Vous avez le choix d’une présentation supplémentaire quand la présentation Les invertébrés n’est pas disponible en hiver.

Randonnée thématique : Biodiversité des terres humides
Marchez dans le marais et apprenez comment les plantes, les animaux et l’eau fonctionnent ensemble.

Explorons les bassins versants
Au moyen d’une maquette de bassin versant et d’activités, les élèves apprendront l’importance des terres humides et des bassins versants et comment les préserver.

Ornithologie 101
Découvrez la fascinante diversité des oiseaux du marais Oak Hammock grâce à cette introduction à l’identification des oiseaux. Une façon colorée d’explorer la classification!

Chimie de l’eau *
Prélevez des échantillons d’eau du marais et testez-les dans notre laboratoire pour mieux comprendre les propriétés uniques des terres humides. *Veuillez noter : il y a un frais supplémentaire de 2,00 $ par jeune pour cette présentation.

Géocaching *
Le géocaching est un moyen amusant de s’entraîner à l’utilisation d’une unité GPS, un outil important utilisé par les scientifiques des terres humides sur le terrain. *Veuillez noter : il y a un frais supplémentaire de 2,00 $ par jeune pour cette présentation.

Jeux autochtones
Ces jeux sont encore aujourd’hui une façon amusante d’apprendre et de développer des habilités importantes et se connecter aux cultures des peuples autochtones du Canada.

Canot des Voyageurs *
Explorez le marais avec un interprète dans l’un de nos canots des Voyageurs, de dix passagers. Si la taille du groupe et les conditions météorologiques le permettent. *Veuillez noter : il y a un frais supplémentaire de 4,00 $ par jeune pour cette excursion.
